The Center for Chinese Medicine was founded in the 1970's by Dr. Su Liang Ku, who's mission was to provide integrative care by implementing the philosophies and techniques of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that have existed in China for over 4000 years.
TCM has changed little over the centuries and still works for modern life. Its basic concept is that a vital force of life, called Qi (Chi), surges through the body. The balance of free-flowing Qi is a key concept in maintaining good health. Any imbalance to Qi can cause disease and illness, and vice versa. This imbalance is often caused by the stagnation of Qi, or by an alteration in the opposite and complementary forces, called Yin and Yang, that make up the Qi.
TCM treatment seeks to balance the Qi through treatment specific to the individual. We offer additional methods for healing from those generally practiced in western medicine. With training in both China and America, we try to resolve many medical issues through Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and other forms of non-aggressive manipulation.
Our bodies are quite adept at repairing themselves. We use methods that aid that natural ability with modalities like acupuncture, which has been practiced in China for over 4000 years
We believe many illnesses are caused by the toxins in our foods. . Replacing them with cleaner, more organically grown food and natural plant remedies aids the body in healing itself and preventing future disease.
Cupping is a type of alternative therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. The suction increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed , which facilitates healing.
